Join us for a hands-on workshop on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026, where we explore the art of crafting fire cider, an invigorating herbal tonic, with Gainesville's beloved lead herbalist, LeAnn Averall, owner of A Thousand Leaves Herb Shop in downtown Gainesville!
Fire cider is an ancient remedy made with herbs, roots, fruits, and more - all to boost the immune system during the chilly months. This makes for a great herbal tonic to keep at home as a modality for self-care, or to gift to a loved one who could benefit from an herbal remedy, made with love from your own hands.
We will gather at our urban farm, and together learn to make fire cider and craft our own unique blends. Join us for a morning of co-learning amongst the veggies and winter flowers!
Our mission at Working Food is centered on increasing access to fresh, local food while empowering communities with sustainable practices. By purchasing tickets to this workshop, you will not only go home with your own herbal remedy for the winter months ahead, but simultaneously contribute towards food justice in our community.
This event blends education and community engagement, offering a unique opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals. Through this experience, you’ll not only learn valuable skills but also support our cause of promoting food justice.
Price: $65 - Each ticket purchased is a direct donation to our nonprofit, helping us grow fresh food to address food insecurity and making gardening education available to ALL.
