Volunteer days begin with a welcoming circle to connect, share, and review the day’s tasks. From there, we break into groups to weed, plant, harvest, and tend the garden. Along the way, you might meet new friends, enjoy music, or share snacks at the picnic table.
We believe productivity means more than just work—it’s about building relationships with the earth, with community, and with yourself.
-
We welcome groups during our public volunteer days! Please email GivingGarden@WorkingFood.org to schedule your group’s Thursday volunteering session. While we do not require sign up from individuals, we want to ensure that groups are planned for, in advance, to avoid having too many hands at once!
-
Volunteers range from age 3 to 73! We create kid-friendly tasks for younger helpers and keep wide garden paths to welcome volunteers of all abilities.
