Meet our University of Florida intern, Noah Allen! Noah has been working with us to create videos that highlight our work with local farmers incorporating seed saving into their farm practices! Noah is documenting the seeds, the farmers, and their stories! It’s a lot of behind the scenes work capturing farm footage in the right light at the right time, and hours behind the computer making edits. We are so grateful to get to work with Noah!
Noah comes to us through our partnership with Dr. Danielle Treadwell, Associate Professor in Horticultural Sciences. Noah is in his senior year of an undergraduate program in Plant Sciences. His family has farmed in North Florida for over 40 years and he hopes to continue stewarding this land by developing it into his own plant science research and development facility to help educate and build agricultural infrastructure for local communities and farmers. His favorite thing about working on this farmer seed saving project is connecting with local farmers and understanding how they came to be the farms they are today. We’re excited to get to work with energetic and enthusiastic young people who give us hope that our food future can be bright!
Stay tuned for future seed videos, featuring our work with Siembra, Nicoya and Hammock Hollow Farm.
